Robopocalypse Movie

Robopocalypse MovieSteven Spielberg is set to direct Robopocalypse, an epic post-apocalyptic techno thriller movie that explores the fate of the human race following a robot uprising. The film is based on a yet unpublished book of the same name written by Daniel H. Wilson (who's got a Ph.D. in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute). The plot hasn't been revealed yet. But thanks to Dreamworks' Mark Sourian we may learn a few details:

"Daniel H. Wilson's cautionary tale of man versus machine grabbed us from the very beginning. Wilson's background in robotics and artificial intelligence grounds his story with a frightening level of realism and he has created an exhilarating story that we think audiences will really respond to."
Mark Sourian,
Co-President of Production at DreamWorks Studios

And more recently:

"Robopocalypse' embodies an imaginative story of a robot rebellion unleashed against the human race... This is a project we immediately sparked to and with Steven directing it we knew it was in the best possible hands to bring it to worldwide audiences."
Mark Sourian,
Co-President of Production at DreamWorks Studios

So we may expect a realistic take on a robot uprising and the movie Robopocalypse is likely to focus on mankind's side of the story. Sounds all good to me bring it on!

Steven Spielberg if supposed to begin principal photography on Robopocalypse in January 2012, so the film will probably be released end of 2012 or in in 2013. But the book will be published earlier, in June 2011.

More details about the movie Robopocalypse soon, so stay tuned with us!
